The sun sets on the Court Pond from Oct. 6-9
6 October 2022
On the occasion of Art The Hague, the open-air exhibition BlowUp Art The Hague from Oct. 6 to 9 will include an additional object: the setting sun on the Hofvijver. Sunset on The Hague' by artist duo Mike Rijnierse and Ludmila Rodrigues is a floating sunset that allows visitors to enjoy the moment longer. The object is inspired by Vermeer's painting "View of Delft," which hangs in the Mauritshuis.
The artwork will be on display from October 6 through 9 every evening from 7:00-11:00 p.m. on the Hofvijver near the Mauritshuis. During Museum Night (Saturday night, October 8, 8:00-01:00 p.m.), the BlowUp Art artworks in the Gevangenpoort, the Schoorsteenvegerstraat, and the Plein will also be specially illuminated. Definitely worth a visit!
Free and also in the evening
Colorful, grand and movable: six inflatable artworks add spectacular, temporary forms to monuments, statues and other sites of yesteryear. Through these colorful and sometimes funny interventions, you suddenly experience those everyday things as if they were new. The artworks are part of a walking route around the Binnenhof in Museumkwartier. Free entrance for young and old until Thursday, October 13 (also in the evening)! You can find them at the following locations: Gevangenpoort, Schoorsteenvegerstraat (Lange Voorhout, next to Pulchri), Koninklijke Schouwburg, Plein, Korte Vijverberg (in front of the Hague Historical Museum) and on the Hofvijver.
