International Conference Advisor

The Convention Bureau focuses on recruiting and facilitating (inter)national congresses and business events in The Hague. We represent not only The Hague, but also over 100 partners, such as venues, hotels and service providers that could be significant to convention organizers. The goal is to strengthen our local economy by expanding knowledge, trade, investment and participant spending.
For this department, starting April 1, we are temporarily looking for an enthusiastic:
International Conference Advisor (job level A) for 32-40 hours p.w.
This is a temporary position for probably six months.
The International Conference Advisor provides sales and acquisition support to the Convention Bureau sales team as and when needed. The International Conference Advisor works closely with the sales team staff and enjoys researching, organising and providing support.
What does your day look like:
- You will support the department in achieving sales goals in accordance with TH&P's goals and objectives;
- You will support the team and customers in sales and acquisition activities;
- You will prepare presentation and promotional materials;
- You assist in the qualification of sales leads (from trade shows and promotions);
- You research, qualify and prioritise new business leads using available research tools;
- You assist in gathering and updating information, desk research required in researching leads, preparing for trade shows and related matters;
- You respond to and coordinate general inquiries related to sales or acquisition;
- You will do follow-up on all (after) sales, lead and bid activities using the CRM system to track and report progress. And maintaining an accurate database and follow-up procedures;
- You will provide input and support on regular sales reports;
- Collecting and organising product and event information and other information;
- You will stay abreast of Hague's products and services through product presentations within the industry, site visits, research and industry meetings;
- Preparing bid instructions for the benefit of the team.
What do we expect from you?
- HBO working and thinking level;
- At least 1 or 2 years of relevant work experience;
- Excellent command of the Dutch and English languages both verbally and in writing;
- Excellent organisational and project management skills;
- Can work well with all Microsoft programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and has experience with CRM databases;
- Good knowledge of The Hague and region;
- Flexible attitude, including working outside normal working hours.
