The Hague & Partners and InnovationQuarter sign agreement to strengthen collaboration

5 March 2021

Earlier this week, The Hague & Partners and InnovationQuarter signed an agreement during a video conference to strengthen their cooperation and division of roles with regard to the marketing acquisition aimed at foreign investors, companies & organisations. The aim of the collaboration is to jointly attract and retain more efficient and effective companies to the The Hague region.

Multidisciplinary program teams linked to sectors

The agreement describes the cooperation and division of roles between the two organizations in the field of recruitment and account management of foreign companies. The innovation lies mainly in the collaboration in international multidisciplinary program teams, which will work strategically and focused on the sectors that are important to The Hague. These teams will include employees of both organisations, as well as representatives of the Municipality of The Hague and other relevant partners. The first sectors to be operated in this way are Energy and IT / Tech.

Working together to attract foreign companies

In The Hague, two organizations are active in attracting foreign companies: InnovationQuarter as a regional development company for South Holland and The Hague & Partners as a marketing and acquisition organisation of the municipality of The Hague. During a video conference with employees of both organizations and the Municipality of The Hague, Laurens Kok (Head of Foreign Investments The Hague & Partners) and Chris van Voorden (Head of Internationalisation InnovationQuarter), in the presence of Alderman Saskia Bruines (Economy, International, Services), Rinke Zonneveld (Director InnovationQuarter) and Marco Esser (Director The Hague & Partners) have signed an agreement to optimize and officially perpetuate the long-standing cooperation between the two organizations on acquisition.

Alderman Saskia Bruines: “Attracting progressive employers who supplement our local (and regional) economy is of great importance. They create jobs, strengthen economic resilience and increase the innovative capacity of our city. New entrepreneurs make an important contribution to the growth of our economic ecosystems and campus areas and our objectives in areas such as sustainability, peace and justice. To this end, it is necessary that all parties committed to this work well together. Collaborating more effectively is not automatic. That is why I really want to emphasize how important it is that we do this together, where cooperation from different angles and expertise is central. ”
