How The Hague Secures your next Cyber Event

29 October 2024

The Hague is the international City of Peace, Justice and Security. A big responsibility for a small but proud city. As the political capital of The Netherlands, this means that one has to stand out in terms of safety and security. Therefore, The Hague is also home to one of Europe’s most dynamic Tech and Cybersecurity ecosystems. Which makes it a perfect destination for hosting events that address the challenges of the digital age. Whether they involve cutting-edge research, government policies, or international collaborations. In this article we talked to International Conference Advisor Joris Boässon Borger to dive into the cybersecurity cluster for the events sector.

The Hague: a cybersecurity ecosystem

International Conference Advisor Joris explains the diversity in the cybersecurity network of The Hague. “The Municipality of The Hague understood the importance of cybersecurity from the early stages and has profiled itself as ‘the place to be’.”  The reputation of The Hague as a hub for international cybersecurity is backed by a growing cluster of IT and Tech organizations. With institutions like The Hague Security Delta (HSD), the largest security cluster in Europe, and renowned organizations like Europol's Cybercrime Centre (EC3), the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), and NATO’s Communications and Information Agency, the city brings together key players from both the public and private sectors.

In addition to its robust network of cybersecurity experts, Joris explains, The Hague also hosts numerous leading tech companies, startups, and research institutions that focus on developing solutions for critical challenges like cybercrime, data protection, and cybersecurity governance. With over 300 organizations working in the security sector, The Hague provides an innovative and collaborative environment that ensures cybersecurity events held here are deeply connected to the real-world challenges and solutions facing today’s digital landscape.

The Hague & Partners Convention Bureau offers a range of services to help event organizers plan seamless and secure cybersecurity conferences. From venue selection to logistical coordination and security planning, the team works closely with organizers to meet the specific needs of each event.
