As the official marketing and acquisition organization for The Hague, The Hague & Partners promotes leisure, conferences, and business development, aiming to strengthen our city’s economy and foster employment by attracting international and national visitors, conferences, businesses, and institutions.
Our business division, the Business Agency, is dedicated to helping international companies and NGOs strategically expand their operations to The Hague region. Through tailored programs and services, we ensure these pioneering businesses and NGOs have a smooth transition to The Hague and its surrounding areas.
For this division we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated International Business Advisor specializing in NGOs and Impact Economy. This role focuses on attracting and retaining NGOs and impact-driven companies/organizations for The Hague region.
Your responsibilities will include:
- The International Business Advisor for NGOs and Impact Economy will be responsible for acquisition activities related to the attraction and retention of NGOs and social and environmental impact companies to The Hague region.
- Develop and implement client acquisition propositions and activities to generate leads and attract foreign companies and organizations to The Hague.
- Collaborate closely with international business advisors responsible for other sectors and countries, as well as with marketing communication staff, sales support and Convention Bureau colleagues.
- Report to the Team Manager of the Business Agency, taking into account the requirements and wishes of the City of The Hague and other partners and stakeholders.
- Actively develop, expand, and maintain strategic relationships with NGOs, companies, startups, and scale-ups.
- Keeping a good relationship with partnering parties, including consulates and embassies abroad, as well as various institutions and network organizations, such as the partners affiliated with Invest in Holland, Innovation Quarter, Rotterdam Partners and municipality of The Hague city.
- Work closely with colleagues at The Hague & Partners and with external experts.

Requirements:
- HBO or academic (WO) level of thinking and working.
- Minimum 5 years of work experience, preferably in the NGO and impact sectors, with a solid understanding of industry dynamics and trends.
- Proven expertise in client acquisition, business development, and marketing with a track record of driving growth and building long-term relationships.
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Dutch is preferred.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills, with the ability to maintain contacts across various levels and sectors, and the confidence to engage with external stakeholders independently.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a creative approach to developing new market segments and partnerships, and a strong ability to think strategically.
- Global perspective and cultural awareness, with experience working in diverse environments and the ability to adapt to and thrive in different cultural contexts.

- We work in an agile environment, meaning we work flexibly (not bound by place and time).
