Vacancy Business Advisor IR & Projects

The Hague & Partners is a publicly funded non-profit organisation, with the core task of attracting visitors, businesses and conferences to The Hague, and then keeping them here. Through our marketing and acquisition activities, we stimulate The Hague’s economy and create employment for its residents. The way we do this is by forging connections. We connect new businesses with The Hague, visitors with the city’s attractions, and event planners with local conference venues. And we don’t do this alone: we work closely with colleagues and with our partners to promote the city that we love. 

The Hague & Partners is the official marketing and acquisition organization for promoting leisure, conferences, and business developments in The Hague. As a professional non-profit organization, we aim to strengthen the economy of our city and promote employment by attracting (inter)national visitors, conferences, businesses, and institutions to the city. 

Our business division, the Business Agency, is focused on helping international companies and NGOs to strategically expand their operations to The Hague region. We assist them by offering tailor-made programmes and services to ensure that these pioneering businesses and NGOs have a soft landing in The Hague and surrounding areas. After establishing themselves in our city, our support does not stop there. We have a strong Investor Relations (IR) programme in place to help foreign companies integrate into the local ecosystem and further grow their presence in the region.

For this division we are seeking to recruit a Business Advisor (Investor Relations and projects) - fulltime

As a Business Advisor (Investor Relations and Projects), you will play an important role in supporting and strengthening the international business ecosystem of The Hague region. You will work closely with established foreign companies, strategic partners, and stakeholders to help companies grow, innovate, and further integrate into the local ecosystem. In addition, you will act as the main coordinator and project owner for selected projects and investment initiatives for the city. 

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • The Business Advisor (Investor relations and projects) will be responsible for retention of foreign companies within the The Hague region. 
  • Develop and implement ecosystem propositions and activities to encourage the foreign companies and organizations to integrate with the local ecosystem. 
  • Collaborate closely with international business advisors responsible for different sectors and countries, as well as with marketing communication staff, sales support and convention bureau colleagues. 
  • Report to the head of Business Agency, considering the requirements and wishes of the City of The Hague, Invest in Holland network, other partners and stakeholders for IR and projects. 
  • Actively maintain and expand strategic relationships with companies, startups, and scale-ups. 
  • Maintaining a good relationship with stakeholders (such as IiH network, economic department of the city of The Hague).
  • Keeping a good relationship with partnering parties, including consulates and embassies abroad, as well as various institutions and network organizations, such as the partners affiliated with Invest in Holland, Innovation Quarter, Rotterdam Partners and the Economic Department of The City of The Hague. 
  • Identify opportunities for reinvestment, expansion, partnerships, and ecosystem collaboration.
  • Coordinate and support strategic projects related to international business development, economic growth, and sector development.
  • Monitor market trends, sector developments, and policy changes relevant to international companies. Contribute to reports, presentations and strategic advice for internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • HBO+ level of thinking and working. 
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in the business sectors with decent knowledge about Foreign direct investment. 
  • Experienced with client acquisition, business development and marketing.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both Dutch and English. 
  • Skilled in maintaining external contacts at various levels Independent, decisive, engaging, and a true pioneer. 
  • Entrepreneurial mindset to creatively develop new market segments and partnerships.

  • Appropriate remuneration and fringe benefits (salary indication between € 3639,= and € 5068,= based on a 40-hour workweek, scale 10) in accordance with the Employment Conditions Regulation of TH&P.
  • For a full-time position: 26 vacation days and 12 ATV days (additional days off).
  • We work in an agile environment, meaning we work flexibly (not bound by place and time).
