Luxury cruise ship arrives in The Hague for second time

The Hague - The British cruise ship the MS Hebridean Sky will arrive in the port of Scheveningen on Wednesday 23 August. This is the second time the ship has docked in The Hague port. Last year, September 2022, the MS Hebridean Sky was the first cruise ship to arrive in Scheveningen after the corona pandemic. 

The 90-metre ship, built in Italy in 1992, is one of Noble Caledonia's two flagships. This British shipping company specialises in luxury cruise holidays on small-scale ships. With 59 spacious suites, there is room for 118 passengers assisted by 70 crew members.

Traditionally, a warm welcome will await those on board in Scheveningen, after which they can spend a morning exploring The Hague. Their journey began two weeks earlier in Sweden, followed by a tour of several countries around the Baltic Sea. The Hague is the second-to-last stop on their tour. A day later, they will arrive at the cruise's final port, Portsmouth, England. A similar cruise is planned again next year with The Hague again being part of the itinerary.

Noble Caledonia strives to operate responsibly and minimise their footprint. Smaller cruise ships have less environmental and community impact compared to large(er) cruise ships. They require less specialised facilities at mooring locations and can therefore call at small(er) ports. Thus, destinations are not flooded with large numbers of tourists in a short period of time and these stops do contribute positively to prosperity and well-being of the city.

Such cruise ship arrivals put The Hague on the map with a new international audience. This makes the port of The Hague-Scheveningen a hidden gem for smaller, more luxurious passenger ships."
