26 September 2024
The Hague – From 30 September to 4 October, The Hague will serve as the global stage for the Cybersecurity Week 2024 again. Bringing together experts, businesses, and international delegations. This week full of events focuses on sharing knowledge, fostering collaboration, promoting innovation, increasing cyber awareness and strengthening cybersecurity solutions.
For over 125 years The Hague is renowned as the international city of peace and justice and has also built up a strong reputation and unique network that brings together knowledge, innovation and cooperation in the field of cybersecurity. Peace, justice and security go hand in hand. Private, public and knowledge organisations like Security Delta (HSD), InnovationQuarter, National Cyber Security Centre, (NCSC), Europol, the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI) and many others work together every day to protect the digital world.
Collaboration on a Global Scale.
Cybersecurity Week in The Hague emphasises the importance of international cooperation in securing the digital future. The city will welcome delegations from Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, India, Norway, the UK, the USA among others during the International ick-Off on 30th September at the HSD Campus to highlight the role of global collaboration and partnerships in tackling shared cybersecurity risks.
Promoting Innovation and Knowledge Sharing
The ONE Conference, held on 1 and 2 October at the World Forum, is Europe’s leading cybersecurity event where knowledge sharing and networking are key. It will feature discussions on the upcoming NIS2 Directive and open the conversation about Cyber volunteering across the Atlantic, neurodiversity in cybersecurity, OT network monitoring, geopolitical conflicts, etc.
Innovation will also take centre stage at events like the ECSO Cyber Investor Days on 3 October, where start-ups will pitch their cybersecurity solutions to national and international investors, driving advancements in the field.
Securing our world's digital future
The Cybersecurity Week in The Hague is not just for cybersecurity professionals but also to support cyber resilience for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and NGOs. Both are often and increasingly targeted by cyberattacks.
On 30 September the Cyber Crisis Training at the City Hall will provide practical guidance to SMEs on strengthening defences and responding to attacks.
At that same day in the Peace Palace the ‘Beyond 125 years, securing our world's digital future’ takes place. This event is a call to take action for the digital safety of nonprofits, including through the creation of a dedicated fund for their cybersecurity.
Focus on Talent and Diversity
The European Women4Cyber Conference, ‘Beyond Borders’ on 3 and 4 October will be held at the Louwman Museum. Key topics will include AI, cybercrime, regulation, hybrid threats, social engineering, and insights from CISOs. Attendees can expect a mix of inspirational talks, case studies, technical sessions, and ample networking opportunities. The event will also include a Talent Fair for recruiters, providing an opportunity to connect with top talent in cybersecurity. This event contributes to the current challenge of the lack of talent in the cybersecurity field.
The ONE Talent Hub at the ONE Conference will connect job seekers and professionals with career development opportunities.
