Dance connects The Hague cultural sector in unique collaboration

With a five-part video series, the cultural sector of The Hague is putting itself in the spotlight.  Never before have so many institutions, makers and iconic places in The Hague been linked in a video production.  The artistic videos by renowned filmmaker and photographer Gerrit Schreurs show dance in surprising places. Not on stage, but wandering through the city.

The videos feature various dance forms: from break dance to modern and from Indian dance to circus. Beginning talent as well as top international dancers dance through the halls of The Hague's museums, theatres and at well-known locations such as the Binnenhof, the Palace Gardens and the Havenhoofd. The music has been specially composed by students of the Royal Conservatoire. The unique collaboration is part of the campaign The Hague is on. A new video will appear every month to enthuse visitors about the rich cultural offerings in The Hague. The dance videos and the complete out-of-doors agenda can be found at denhaag.com/staataan.   

The video production was made by filmmaker Gerrit Schreurs, in cooperation with The Hague & Partners. The participants in the videos are Amare, Escher in het Paleis, Haags Hip Hop Centrum, Gemeente Den Haag, Kunstmuseum Den Haag, Louwman Museum, Korzo Theater, Royal Conservatoire, Museon, Mauritshuis, Museum Beelden aan Zee, Nieuwe Kerk, Nederlands Dans Theater and Theater Diligentia.
