New office officially opened in presence of Deputy Head of the U.S. Mission in the Netherlands Aleisha Woodward and The Hague Deputy Mayor and alderman for Finance, Culture and the Economy Saskia Bruines
Den Haag, The Netherlands (March 22, 2023) – Air Products (NYSE: APD) has opened its new Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Project Delivery Office in The Hague. The office, located at Wilhelmina van Pruisenweg, will serve as a key contributor to Air Products' engineering, procurement and construction work throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa.
As the global leader in hydrogen, Air Products is taking a leading role in the energy transition. "From this new office in The Hague, we will develop and execute various engineering and construction projects in the Netherlands and in the rest of Europe. As Air Products, we are a first mover and involved in several projects such as building a new hydrogen plant in Rotterdam. These projects make energy transition a reality. I am proud that we will now do the same with our teams from this new location in The Hague.", said Joost Parmentier, General Manager - Project Delivery EMEA at Air Products
The new office marks another important milestone for Air Products, as it is the company's first Project Delivery office on the European mainland. The choice of The Hague as the location for the office is strategic, as the Netherlands and in particular the province of South Holland is an important region for Air Products and a gateway to other European regions.
On behalf of Air Products, Joost Parmentier welcomed guests and friends to the opening of the new office. "I'm very proud of the team we are building here and in the future. We are really building tomorrow together with which our office will make a significant contribution to The Hague’s highly-skilled labor market and economy," said Parmentier during the opening.
Next to the General Manager of this new Project Delivery Office, Air Products had the honour to welcome Aleisha Woodward, the Deputy Chief of the U.S. Mission in the Netherlands, and Saskia Bruines, The Hague Deputy Mayor and alderman for Finance, Culture and the Economy, and both distinguished guests delivered speeches.
Air Products' commitment to accelerating the energy transition in the Netherlands and in Europe was demonstrated by announcements of several real-life projects in the port of Rotterdam. These include an import terminal for renewable ammonia, a second liquid hydrogen plant, and a hydrogen fueling station for trucks.
Aleisha Woodward, Deputy Chief of Mission U.S. Embassy in the Netherlands said: "This office and its focus on energy transition projects exemplifies the importance of close cooperation between our two countries and other countries in the region to tackle climate change.”
Saskia Bruines, The Hague Deputy Mayor and alderman for Finance, Culture and the Economy said: “The Hague welcomes companies which are working on the Sustainable Development Goals. Air Products significantly contributes to the energy transition globally and forms a great addition to the Hague’s energy- and engineering cluster”.
