The Hague – From tomorrow, Saturday May 10, the historic centre of The Hague is transformed into an open-air gallery with BlowUp Art X Pulchri Studio. The fourth edition of BlowUp Art presents an exciting mix of inflatable art installations by renowned Dutch designers John Körmeling, Kiki and Joost, Eugenie Boon, Piet Warffemius and Fransje Killaars.
From 10 May to 11 June, BlowUp Art X Pulchri Studio offers visitors an exhibition of volume with surprising, colourful installations in public spaces. This year, the grand inflatable artworks can be seen side-by-side with Voorhout Monumentaal, the sculpture exhibition by Pulchri Studio, an artists' association and gallery in The Hague. During these simultaneous open-air exhibitions, in which Pulchri Studio, BlowUp Art and museum West Den Haag have joined forces, a visit to the cultural hotspots of the Museum Quarter in the heart of The Hague becomes even more worthwhile.
Fresh look
BlowUp Art X Pulchri Studio is part of the BinnenhofBuiten project, an initiative by The Hague & Partners that makes culture and art accessible during the renovation of the Binnenhof. The exhibition is free to visit and offers a fresh look at art in public spaces.
If you are in The Hague, treat yourself to a 'BlowUpcino'. This is a cappuccino topped with an eye-catching, artisanal meringue topping. The BlowUpcino, as colorful and photogenic as the expo itself, can be ordered for the same price as a normal cappuccino at Pulchri Studio, Hotel des Indes, Escher in Het Paleis, Mauritshuis, HNT - Koninklijke Schouwburg, Gallery61 and Dudok.
