- What do you like most about The Hague?
Its diversity. The Hague is a city full of history and art, with people from all over the world who find both a safe haven and new opportunities here.
- What is your favourite place in The Hague, and why?
Choosing just one favourite place in The Hague is almost impossible. There’s De Paas, the historic brewery founded by Jan van Goyen and later run by his son-in-law Jan Steen, one of my favourite painters. Then there’s the Haagsche Bluf, with a collection of some of the city’s most distinctive façades and some of the most unusual and poetic street lamps I know. And of course, there’s the Binnenhof, the historic and symbolic heart of The Hague.
- It’s Monday morning, 9.00 am. Where do you get your coffee?
At home. By 9.00 am, I’m usually already on my fifth cup.
- Which business in The Hague should more people know about?
Wijn op Dronk in Balistraat. Together with Antiquariaat Arine van der Steur, it makes for the perfect combination of excellent wines, old books and prints.
