Terms and Conditions

These are the terms and conditions for use of the website of The Hague Convention Bureau, Company Number KVK Haaglanden 6957 5223. Contact details appear at the end of these Terms.

1. Use of Web Site on These Conditions

All use of the web site thehague.com ("the Site") is on the terms and conditions below. If you do not agree to these conditions cease use of the Site immediately.

You may print and keep a copy of these terms. They are a legal agreement between us and can only be modified with our consent. We reserve the right to change the terms at our discretion by changing them on the Site.

Services offered on the Site, are provided by The Hague & Partners, or The Hague & Partners' partners. In the case of the former, they comprise a contract between the user and our partner, not The Hague & Partners. Although The Hague & Partners uses its reasonable endeavours to ensure reputable suppliers are used on the Site it accepts no liability arising from supplies by such partners. All such sales are on the terms and conditions of the partner which can be accessed from their respective website. 

2. Accuracy of Information

The Hague & Partners ("we") do our best to ensure all information on the Site is accurate. If you find any inaccurate information on the Site let us know and we will correct it, where we agree, as soon as practicable. You should independently verify any information before relying upon it.

We make no representations that information is accurate and up to date or complete and accept no liability for any loss or damage caused by inaccurate information. This Site gives a large amount of data and there will inevitably be errors in it. 

3. Our Liability

We provide information on this Site free of any access charge and on the basis of no liability for the information given. In no event shall we be liable to you for any direct or indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue or goodwill arising from your use of the Site or information on the Site.

5. Social Media Contests Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction 

1.1 The promoter is the Hague & Partners, whose registered office is at  Prinses Beatrixlaan 582, 2508 CD, The Hague [see details below]

1.2 These rules apply to all competitions, prize draws, promotions, giveaways and suchlike that are promoted on and run through our website or social media channels.

1.3 To enter a competition you must enter as directed on our website, social media channels or direct communication. 

1.4 This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Twitter or any other Social Network. You are providing your information to The Hague & Partners and not to any other party. The information provided will be used in conjunction with the following Privacy Policy found at https://thehague.com/partners/en/privacy-policy

2. Eligibility and entry restrictions 

2.1 To be eligible to enter a social media competition: 

(a) entrants must be a real person and international event organizers aged 18 years or over.  

(b) entrants must not be employees, officers, or agents of The Hague & Partners or officers, agents or relatives of any person or organization involved in the running of the competition. 

(c) Competition entrants for our promotions on social media must have a genuine account and must ‘follow’ The Hague Convention Bureau social network page (Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) as part of the entry process. 

2.2 The maximum number of entries to a competition per person is 1. 

2.3 There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.

2.5 The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the promoter’s control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter.  

2.6 The promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.   

2.7 By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.  

2.8 The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by Dutch law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Netherlands.  

2.9 The winner agrees to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material, as well as their entry. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current NL data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent. 

3. Start and closing dates 

3.1 The closing date for entry will be 31 August. After this date, no further entries to the competition will be permitted.  

3.2 A competition shall open for entries at the time and on the date specified on our website and/or social media channels, and similarly, shall close to entries at the time and on the date specified on our website and social media channels. Unless otherwise stated, these times and dates are set to those for UTC (Coordinated Universal Time). 

3.3 Any entries received before the opening or after the closing of the competition will be invalid and will not be entered into the competition. 

3.4 No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason. 

3.5 Entry into the competition will be deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions. 

4. Judging 

4.1 Competition entries shall be judged, and winners shall be selected on the basis of those criteria specified on our website and/or social media channels in relation to the competition. 

4.1 If a competition entrant does not meet the eligibility requirements or is subject to any entry restrictions, that entrant shall not be entitled to be adjudged a winner. Hence will not be entitled to a prize in any circumstances. 

4.3 Our decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into. 

5. Winners and prizes 

5.1 The winner agrees to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material, as well as their entry. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current NL data protection legislation. 

5.2 The prize for the current contest is as stated in the direct communication. No cash or other alternatives will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice. 

5.3 Winners will be chosen as measured and recorded and verified by The Hague & Partners and/or its agents. 

5.4 The winner will be notified by email and/or DM on LinkdIn and/or letter by mid-September. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 14 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
