Establishing Your Non-Profit in The Netherlands

The Hague is a global hub for international non-profit organisations and NGOs. As the International City of Peace and Justice, it offers a unique ecosystem for organisations committed to making a difference worldwide.

Whether your organisation is considering relocation or establishing a new legal entity in the Netherlands, understanding the Dutch legal and tax landscape is essential to ensuring a smooth transition and sustainable operations.

This webinar provides practical guidance on both the strategic advantages of The Hague and the legal framework governing non-profit organisations in the Netherlands.

The session is organised by The Hague & Partners and The Hague Humanity Hub, in collaboration with Bird & Bird.

  • A practical clarification of how to incorporate a Dutch foundation or association, including the main legal steps and formal requirements.
  • Who makes the decisions? A discussion of the internal organisation of both Dutch foundations and associations, including different board structures.
  • A high-level introduction to reporting and publication requirements applicable to Dutch foundations and associations under Dutch corporate law.
  • What the ANBI status (Public Benefit Organisation status) is, why it is valuable, and the key requirements to obtain and maintain it.
