The Hague & Partners is launching its first trends publication: a new publication that brings together, interprets and translates relevant societal developments, economic shifts and changes in visitor behaviour into the context of The Hague. The publication provides organisations, policymakers and professionals with insight into the trends that will influence the city and its visitors, residents and businesses in the years ahead.
The world is changing at a rapid pace. Changing travel behaviour, societal developments, economic shifts and evolving expectations among residents and visitors all have a direct impact on how cities develop and position themselves. Although a great deal of research into these developments is available, what is often missing is a clear translation of what these trends mean in practice for The Hague.
With this new trends publication, The Hague & Partners is bringing together insights from a range of national and international studies in one overview for the first time. By combining these studies and interpreting them from the perspective of The Hague, the publication becomes a practical tool that helps organisations better identify opportunities and challenges and anticipate them effectively.
“With this publication, we aim to support organisations in The Hague in making future-proof choices. Not by predicting new trends, but by bringing together existing knowledge and research and translating these insights into what these developments mean for our city.”
Marco Esser, director van The Hague & Partners
Trend Talk The Hague
The trends publication was officially presented at Trend Talk The Hague on Tuesday 30 June 2026 at Grey Space in the Middle. During the event, experts shared their perspectives on the key developments shaping the future of cities, organisations and the environments in which people live and work.
Speakers included Michael Siebers (NBTC), who explored global developments and visitor trends that are changing the behaviour of residents and visitors, and Stef Driessen (ABN AMRO), who highlighted the economic and societal value of the sector and the impact of current developments.
The event also featured a panel discussion with representatives from The Hague’s hospitality sector: Sander Gielen (Chair of Partners in Toerisme), Leontien Wiering (Director of Amare) and Thomas Kortleve (Chair of Haags Hotel Overleg). They discussed what the key developments mean for their own organisations, the sector and The Hague.
