One-day leadership training: Leading under pressure
Leadership skills that retain cyber talent and build resilience
The Municipality of The Hague offers a one-day leadership training tailored to the cybersecurity sector. The training is based on recent research commissioned by the Municipality of The Hague, which shows that talent retention is also a leadership challenge. The Municipality of The Hague values the unique cybersecurity network in the city and wants to help it grow and remain strong. By investing in leadership development, we aim to help organisations create an environment where cybersecurity professionals can develop, thrive, and stay in the sector.
Three practical leadership competencies
The training focuses on three practical competencies that can help leaders build resilience in themselves and the people they lead:
- Gain greater insight on pressure
Recognise sources of pressure at different levels, from individual and task-related factors to organisational and environmental factors. - Give meaningful feedback
Understand the difference between feedback for performance evaluation and feedback for professional development, both when giving and receiving feedback. - Acknowledge progress and success more often
Learn to recognise smaller but meaningful signs of progress, sound judgement and growing competence, rather than focusing only on the next demand.
Why take part?
Subject-matter expertise
The training is facilitated by experts working at the intersection of cybersecurity leadership and human factors. Their approach helps participants gain new insights into the human factors involved in managing complex cybersecurity challenges.
Build connections
The training is open to professionals across the cybersecurity sector in the Netherlands. Individuals and teams are welcome. Bringing colleagues together creates opportunities for shared learning and makes it easier to apply the insights within your organisation.
Practice - Reflect - Transfer
The training combines practical exercises, peer conversations and real-time coaching. Participants will also develop a personal action plan to apply their learning over the following 30 days.
